Bean Soup

Bean Soup

A hearty bowl of bean soup. White Northern beans, carrots, ham and onion. Serve with bread.



1 cup of cooked and drained C&F great northern beans

1/2 cup of shredded carrots

1/2 cup of cub sliced ham


Cooking directions:

Rinse and sort beans. To 1 lb. of beans ( 2 cups) add 10 cups of hot water.

Bring water to rapid boil, boil for 2 minutes.

Remove from heat.

Cover and let stand 1 hour.

Drain soak water and rinse beans.

Add 6 cups of water to drained and rinsed beans.

Simmer gently with lid tilted until desired tenderness is reached, about 1- 1 1/2 hours.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Rinse once more.

Add carrots and sliced ham to 1 cup of great northern beans.

Mix well and serve.
